A customer brought us a Lou Malnati's pizza today for lunch. It was terrible first time in 20 years I have seen a pizza sit around the shop and nobody eating it. this is my second time eating lou malnati's pizza. bad then worse now !

I've lived in the area for about 2 years and didn't know this pick-up/delivery location (only) existed until last week. I'm so glad it's in a convenient strip-mall right on my way home from work. I placed an order online at about 3:30p and chose a 5p 'ready by' time. It was ready as promised. Online ordering is very convenient and easy. I love Lou Malnati's pizza, especially "The Lou", which I ordered last week. While the pizza was everything I had salivated for, it was a bit watery, thus my 4/5 review. I'm sure this was because of the spinach. Spinach really has a tendency to water things down (especially if the spinach was from frozen). Taste wasn't altered, but maneuvering the pie took a little extra care. Pizza was LOADED with toppings. They don't skimp here. I love the cheese blend and the butter crust (my arteries don't). The pizzas taste just as great here as they do at the restaurants. Location appeared to be very well-staffed and all of the customers seemed to be taken care of in an efficient and quick manner. Staff was very friendly, so that's a bonus! Will definitely be back. Where do I find coupons?

I absolutely love this place. Only bad thing is carry out only. Great Pizza and the Bruchetta is the Best !!!! The Salads are really good. They have slices of Eli's cheesecake and Italian ice. They also have fresh frozen pizza ready to go.

Okay. I can't tell you not to order from Lou Malnati's. The pizza is excellent. It is actually my favorite. However, I can tell you not to order from this Lou Malnati's. You might ask why someone would ask you to deprive your instantaneous desire for Lou Malnati's awesomeness or delay it by driving to the Lincolnwood location? Well incompetence is the reason. I moved to the burbs 1 year ago and in that time I've ordered from this location 3 times. Every single time the order was wrong and 1 of those times I waited an hour longer than I was told despite the fact I called it in a day in advance. I've spent a total of roughly $250 on all 3 orders. My wife spoke to the manager about this and he said don't worry about it we will take care of your next order to compensate for screwing up my $150 order and making me wait an additional hour for it. So, we called to give them a 4th chance and apparently that conversation never happened. My wife was put on hold 4 times and bounced to 3 different people. None of which were helpful. So we hung up and ordered from Giordano's. Please do not order from this location. Hopefully they will fire the manager and get someone competent in there. That way I don't have to order from Giordano's. The food gets 5 stars, but the service gets 0 so 2 stars is about right.

As much as I love a good pizza, I find that maybe I'm too unfamiliar to fully appreciate a true Chicago deep dish. Not to say that the pizza was bad, I just felt that nothing really stood out enough to praise. The butter-crust was baked well both on the outside and underneath, but the taste was just not cutting it for me; it honestly tasted like a crispier version of Pizza Hut's crust. We had ordered "The Malnati Classic" so our pizza came with a lean sausage and extra cheese; the sausage definitely being the highlight of it all. The top layer of diced tomatoes is simplicity at its finest. The Malnati salad was definitely the best thing we ordered that night. Not too heavily dressed with their amazing vinaigrette and the salami bits in there just complimented everything so nicely. A stuffed spinach bread was also ordered, but that can be skipped if you're ordering a pizza. Pricing is definitely reasonable. 2 slices per person among our group of 4 and everyone was stuffed. Came up to be like $10~ split evenly. Definitely good, not great.

It was great, but it didn't wow me that much surprisingly. The cheese was thick, the crust is super thick, you get full just by eating one slice of it. The pepperoni is pretty good. If you like thick taste of pizza, I assume you'd like this, but I like it thinner and simple. I don't think I wanna go for this pizza when I am back in Chicago, I was not too impressed of the whole taste.

This is a take-out only place as opposed to other Lou Malnati locations in Chicago area. I've had take outs as well as half baked ones to be finished at home. I also bought a frozen one to be hand (plane) delivered to friends in California. After trying Lou's at a sit down restaurant, I found this joint which was closer to where I lived. For buttercrusts, you have to order at least a day (or 1/2 day) in advance but it's definitely worth it. Even at Lou's, I think it's just not the same without it. Lou's is definitely one of my favourite Chicago style pizzas. I say Chicago style, because I love all pizzas equally whether it be NY style, Chicago, a rolled up calzone, Shakey's or Totino's pizza rolls. Well may be not Totino's as much as other pizzas, but pizza's probably my favourite vegetable so far. My fav. here is the Chicago Classic. Can't go wrong unless you're already full.

Tiny location basically only good for take out or delivery. The staff is semi-friendly and the pizza is pretty good. My family an I got the deep dish plain cheese pizza and my mom loved it. I wasn't particularly picky. It seemed pricey so I would only order it again if it's in high demand, otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way.

We ordered a Caesar salad and Large deep dish " The Lou", which is spinach , mushrooms, roma tomatoes & 3 cheeses. Both were awesome, wonderful . The whole family had a great dinner and tuesdays will be Lou Malnottis night for now on. Every salad we get here is the best I have had. The ceasar didnt disappoint. Fresh ingredients and I like the way the dice the tomatoes so the wind up all over the salad and you get some tomato on every forkful of salad. The Buttercrust pizza and so tasty and i never order spinach pizza but the have a spinach that matrinated in oliveoil, parm cheese and garlic and is really flavorful. This malnotii is now one of my favorite pizzas ever This location is carry-out only

I've visited Chicago several times, and I've had all the pizza that you're supposed to have when visiting here. But Lou Malnalti's stands out by far as the best. The buttery crunchy crust is delicious, and it's not so much dough that the bread is overwhelming. The ingredients are of the highest quality. But it's the sweet taste of the tomatoes and sauce that takes the cake for me. Though this location is a take out, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and they even offered to get my pizza done quicker because I was on a deadline. I'm a NY pizza person by preference, but this pizza is as good as it gets in Chicago, and I will continue to seek it out when I come here.

Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza is amazing! It has such a unique yet delicious taste to it. My dad and I order their pizza at least twice a month because it is so good! If you haven't tried their deep dish pizza, you are missing out. I give it 4/5 stars because I wish their place was bigger like the others I have been to where you can sit down.

I am a pizza fanatic. I could eat it every day. Lou's remains one of the best I have ever had. I hate waiting for a seat in Lincolnwood so the take out here is perfect. Everything tastes fresh and the folks behind the counter are always friendly. For the vegi eaters, the Lou is great. Their sausage is very good but I prefer the pieces over the slab. They also make a good Malnati salad again always fresh. Had their beef sandwich for the first time last week, it was ok. For those who order from Lou's a lot, be sure to joint the Deep Dish Dough loyalty club and earn free food.

It's funny I have never ever thought much on pizza, however I do have to say that going to this pizzeria made me think differently. My co-worker and I decided to get away from our subway diet for a day and boy was this a treat. The sad part is that we should have called ahead because we had to wait 30 minutes, but it would scare me if the pizza was done and ready when I arrived getting bacteria all over it lol. Now when we finally got our pizza it was by far some of the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life, the crust was so different then what I am used to, and the pizza melted in my mouth, God just thing about it now makes me want to drive there and get some now. This pizza is so good and so well known that when I left a piece in the lunch room two of my other co-workers were actually fighting over it lol. I have to say the price is a bit pricey, but definitely worth the investment, those guys take pizza seriously :)

I should preface this review by stating I have tried just about every pizza place in the Chicagoland area. Okay, maybe that is impossible, but it sure feels that way! I am so picky that I will only frequent 4-5 different places. This is absolutely one of them. Hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten. I am very picky, so I tend to order my Chicago style pizza "my way", which is an embarrassingly long order of "easy this and extra that", however when they get it right, man is it right! I am docking this location one star because they do not deliver to my house in downtown Des Plaines (which is only 1.5 miles away). This is by far the closest location to my house (which is in a major area), so I am surprised they do not want to tackle this market. Typically, I would say this is the companies loss...however in this case, I truly feel it is my loss!

Haven't ordered pizza from here in quite some time because it seems like it was getting worse and worse. Ordered last night. Pizzas weren't ready even close to on time which was okay. It was Friday night. The guy apologized when he handed them to me. Okay, thanks. I cracked open the box on the way home to have a piece. Pizza was ice cold. To top it off, the pizza was overdone. Almost broke my teeth on it. Totally bland. No spices. There was so little sauce on it, I was wondering if they forgot to put it on. I'm done with Lou's. It has gone totally downhill over at this location over the past two years. Too much great pizza in the area to pay for an expensive pizza that Jack's grocery store pizza is better than...

I've had Gino's, Uno's, Giordano's... there is nothing as good as Lou's! They have the most amazing crust that melts in your mouth, the sauce is amazing with nice chunks of tomato, and they have a wide range of toppings. My favorite is the Lou: spinach, tomatoes, cheddar and mozzarella cheese- it is AMAZING. Be sure to order a salad- it's a great start to your high calorie meal- but SO worth it!

Definitely the place to go to when you're craving some amazing pizza. The cheese is delicious and they have some of the best crust I've ever had, on both the deep dish and especially the thin. The only thing that bothers me is the use of sausage patties instead of chunks in their stuffed pizza. Kinda weird for me.

When I was a little kid growing up in Schaumburg in the 70s, for a special treat my Dad would sometimes stop on his way home from work at the Lou's in Elk Grove (it was the second of two locations at that time) and bring home their magic deep dish pizza. THOSE WERE SPECIAL NIGHTS! Now that I'm a grown-up, I stop at this place on my way home from work in the suburbs. THIS PIZZA IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER! You have to get sausage no matter what- it's an entire layer of sausage in the pizza- like a great big, round, thin sausage patty is layered into the thing. I get the low-fat cheese too- it tastes exactly the same, but with a tiny bit less guilt. Add spinach and mushrooms and I'm one happy pigger-outer! You will be too!

Sometimes I just don't want to go to and sit in a Lou Malnati's restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I love their pizza. I just want to "carry-out." Well, I found a great "branch" of Lou Malnati's as a carry out store here. No frills, just go in and get great pizza. Just like the original Lou's but ya bring it home. Hey, and on weekends, they put out pizza "samples" for you to enjoy. They are located in Village Green strip mall, next to the cleaners on the left end (facing south). Pickup parking in front of the store.

My only complaint: The Park Ridge location is open for lunch only on Friday which means it's gotta be the end of the week for us to enjoy. Perhaps its even better because we have to wait. Thanks Lou!

Pizza pretty good for a deep dish. We got the classic Lou Malnati pizza. It was very good and what I expected a deep dish to taste like. I'm a New Yorker so going to Chicago and having deep dish was a dream of mine. They did my dream justice. It was a little messy and weird (having to eat it with a fork and knife) but delicious. We also got a Lou Malnati salad with the house sweet balsamic dressing and I was blown away by how good that dressing was. I want that damn recipe!!! I must have more of that dressing in my life. I would definitely love to have their pizza again and compare to the other spot everyone was always talking about.

Lou Malnatis Pizza is amazing. My family and I have lived in Chicago for more than 20 years and never had deep dish until we settled for Lou Malnatis. Everyone we know said its the best and they were right!! Just perfect. We tried their thin crust pizza too and it was just as great. Location wise: Park Ridge isnt too far from the Lou M's dead zone that I live in. The kids that work here arent too nice. They didnt mess up my order just my name. The kid also gave me an annoyed look when i corrected him. Sorry, Anna isnt Anelle. Will I order Lou M's again? YES. I'll try dine in too. However, a smile can go a long way.

Lou Malnati's my favorite deep dish in Chicago. When we have out of town visiting guess this is the pizza we got them. I always order the pan pizza sausage, and mushroom well done, easy tomato. The pizza at this location is great.... it's too bad its only carry out or delivery but the quality is always there. My only issue is the staff always is snotty at this particular location.

Wow again, a lot of sheep here. People like to just say this place is great bc it has a reputation. Not really any sauce, bread is not wonderful and buttery, and this pizza doesn't hold a candle to ginos east. This place is cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I'm a die hard Lou's fan so it's very hard for me to write this review. This Lou's location is very disappointing. The quality of the pizza is subpar. They forgot to add sausage to my half of the pizza and they couldn't split the toppings evenly. They also did a poor job of cutting the pizza. You might be better off going to another Lou's location. That being said, a crappy Lou's pizza is still better than an amazing Little Cesar's pizza.

Came here with high recommendations from my roommate, but unfortunately it just wasn't that good. The pizza wasn't really thick or stuffed, and it wasn't that delicious either. I've had much better Chicago style pizza in San Francisco. The online ordering was pretty awesome though.

Lou Malnati's, in my opinion, will forever be the greatest pizza in existence. I have tried a lot of places, and nothing measures up. However, the pizzas I get from this particular location always leave a bit to be desired. My personal favorite is The Lou -- whenever I order one at the Lincoln Square or Lincolnwood locations, they come out perfectly crispy and delicious. Each and every time I have ordered The Lou for pick-up in Park Ridge... soggy as a wet diaper. It's not even edible. Even when I go with your basic plain cheese deep dish, the crust never seems to be cooked through and the sauce is just a little bit off. To be honest, though, I will probably continue to order from this location because it is the most conveniently located for me. (There is a new one in Harwood Heights that I just might have to look into, though.)

Lou's has a gluten-free pizza option, but it's far from the best. Even so, it's the only location close to home that provides the gluten-free option, so my husband is stuck with it during parties or other mass events. For the gluten-free crust, Lou's uses a sausage patty (you know, the same kind of circle, man-hole shaped sausage covering that they put on top of their stuffed pizza). This sausage crust is very thick and dense, along with being pretty darn fattening and filling. As I stated, it's definitely not a great option, but as my husband typically says, it's an option and he's just grateful he can eat something. Lou's should look into Pizza Fusion (only location in Chicagoland is in Naperville, but I've only dined at the location in L.A.) and what they are doing with Rice Crust. Pizza Fusion gluten-free pizza is great, I don't even need to eat gluten-free, and I loved it. The regular, gluten-full pizza (stuffed or thin, though I much prefer the thin) at Lou's is pretty fabulous and one of my favorites in Chicagoland.

This is a delivery and carry out location - can't eat here. And has a partial menu compared to the full menu/service restaurants. Still, very consistent in their deep dish and thin pizzas - you like deep dish with a layer of sausage (wheel of meat, a former exec would say) and then your choice of other items, its probably the best in Chicago. Thin pizzas a good too with the nice tomato pizza sauce that puts Papa John's and Pizza Hut to shame, though it doesn't compare with Barnaby's, but that's a different review... Don't do delivery since they are prejudice towards DPers (just joking), so I pick up and never had a long wait, even at peak hours.

What else is there to say? This is simply the best deep dish pizza, period. Their delivery, while it takes 40-60 minutes, is worth the wait and we've never had an issue with them. When you have folks from out of town and want to let them try true Chicago style pizza, this is where you need to order from. Everyone else is a wannabe.

All deep dish is an acquired taste and my wife has won me over the the Lou camp. Are there any other kinds of deep dish pizza? For better or worse not in our family. This place is takeout only. Order the sausage or (my favorite) The Lou for veggies and get it well done. Four stars for only takeout only zero atmosphere storefront.

Ignore anyone who gives this place 3 stars or more. I came to Chicago for business. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Chicago? Probably crime. The second thing however, is Chicago-style deep dish pizza. To find the best, we asked the locals. We even checked what they were suggesting against yelp. The common response was Lou Malnati's. So supper time rolls around, and everyone in the group thinks the same thing - "Fuck yeah, imma eat some fuckin' pizza." We get to Lou's and are immediately seated. Waitress is friendly, pizza smells good, pizza looks a little awkward, but whatever. We ordered four different kinds of deep dish pizza and some wings. The wings were pretty good, but had the consistency of cereal thats been sitting in milk for 30 minutes. Soggy dawg. The pizza took about 30 minutes to get to us. So we're all thinking, "well shit, if it took that long, it must be pretty damn good!" Booooyyyy were we in for a shocker. We each get a piece, and take a bite. Every person we were with had the same thing to say. Bland. Every kind of pizza was just bland as fuck. We started to realize at that moment all the flaws of Chicago style pizza like, the sauce. Seriously, what dimwit thought it would be a good idea to cover the top of your pizza with the one thing that burns the roof of your mouth? Where's the seasonings? Who the hell likes thick crust on their pizza? Dude, it's awful. The conclusion that we made is that people from Chicago must lack tastebuds. That's the only thing it could be, considering there's a better chance that i'll eat a turd before I ever eat pizza from this city again. Bottom line is, don't trust people from Chicago. If you want to be disappointed, eat Chicago style deep dish pizza. If you want to enjoy yourself, go to the local grocery store, go to the frozen section, pick out any Totino's pizza of your choice, take it home, cook it yourself in like 10 minutes, and enjoy.

5 stars for the quality of their pizza only, which is IMO some of the best in the Chicago area. My gripe is with their delivery area. I live in a "dead zone" in downtown Des Plaines just east of the Metra station. Neither Park Ridge nor Mount Prospect will deliver to my place. This "dead zone" is densely populated by thousands of condo dwellers. I picked up my order around 5:45 pm on New Year's Day 2014. After 9 minutes of careful driving through a snow storm, I arrived home. Bangkok Belly is located in the same strip mall as Lou's, and they will deliver to my place. When asked why I can't get delivery, I was told that Lou's wouldn't be able to guarantee the quality of their pizza. Really? I call BS!

Lou Malnati's is my favorite pizza in all the land. The Malnati Classic (sausage) and The Lou (veggie) both with butter crusts are amazing. The Park Ridge location is takeout and delivery only. Sadly they do not deliver to south Des Plaines/Rosemont but the drive for pick-up isn't bad. My order is always ready when they say it will be. Not impressed with their salad so I just make my own and let them do what they do best- deep dish pizza.

Whenever I pick up food it works out great. However, every time I order delivery it takes over an hour and it arrives cold.

Until last night, I had never tried Lou's thin crust. Really. The verdict? Pretty freakin' good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the crust on the thin pizzas is a similar version to that on the deep dish pies. The crispy, buttery crust would give Lou away anyday in a blind taste testing. YUM! Park Ridge is a delivery/carry out location only. My order was ready a bit early, and the pick up process and service was friendly and efficient. Now excuse me while I go munch on leftover pizza for lunch!

My first time having Chicago pizza! Unfortunately, I came when I wasn't too hungry so I couldn't really enjoy my pizza. My friend (a big pizza-lover!) however, enjoyed it very much! We actually split a medium between 4 people and had leftovers (we had a salad and some garlic bread as a appetizer). I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Chicago! Save your stomach before you arrive!

Ate here for the first time since moving to the area. I can't eat pizza because of food allergies, but a friend was visiting from out of town and wanted the Chicago pizza experience. After we sat down, I explained my allergies to the server and asked some questions about menu items. We figured out a solution for me that was great! The manager even came over to make sure everything was satisfactory. Everyone was really nice about it.

I live on the east coast where we're deprived of good deep dish pizza making us zealots for Lou Malnati's pizza when in Chicago. Don't think twice INDULGE!!! The classic sausage pizza is superb!

Yea, I picked-up a large deep-dish large spinach today (at the Park Ridge carry-out) and it was three quarters dough!!! I have never seen so much dough and so little toppings. Maybe the chef was having a bad day or are they trying to keep prices the same and cutting back elsewhere like other food manufactures...don't get me started.

Being a fan of NY Pizza and never tried a Chicago type pizza, I ate here for Lunch one day. It's a different type of Pie as they call it eating with a knife and fork but it was good. Very deep dished, with thick layers of cheese and toppings with sauce on top. You only can have a slice or two.

As far as I am concerned, there is no other deep dish pizza. This little place is great for taking some home. If you want to dine in and get the original Lou experience go to the one on Lincoln. Do not consume Lou's if you have a heart condition or prone to fainting upon ingestion of tons of cheese.

Outstanding deep dish pizza. I love the crust. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is because of the thin crust pizza. It's awful... I'd rather throw a frozen pizza in the oven. Stick with the deep dish and you'll be pleased. Also, the Malnati salad is great! Delicious house dressing...

Need good pizza, no nonsense or fancy ambience? Well, you get both at this Lou Malnati's. It's so tiny that it does not offer the full Lou's menu of other places. However, I've ordered catering from here twice, plus numerous pizzas on occasions I did not want to go out or just wanted a nice deep dish to enjoy at home. While all of Lou's pizza varieties are excellent, I order the deep dish with mushrooms and onions about 90% of the time. Takes 35-40 minutes usually but it's always on-time and fresh. Never had a wrong order in 2 years+ coming here. Once you call in and get into their system, they can identify you as a regular with caller ID and ordering is that much quicker. Combine that with the Blockbuster in the same mall, and you got yourself an at-home date night of movie and pizza to go!
